About MY OPTOMETRY in Tarzana, CA

A More Considered Approach to Vision Care

At MY OPTOMETRY, everything is built around giving you the time and attention you need to understand your vision clearly and address your concerns properly.

Lets Go BAck to Where It All Began

Our Tarzana Optometry Practice Was Built on Clinical Precision

The foundation of My Optometry LA was shaped long before the practice came under its current ownership. While studying at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Dr. Foad Shirazian, O.D. spent time at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, where he was first exposed to advanced clinical eye care.

That experience influenced the direction of his career. Rather than focusing solely on vision correction, the goal became to practice optometry with a strong clinical foundation that emphasizes early detection, medical understanding, and precision.

In 2009, Dr. Shirazian took ownership of the practice where he had once worked, bringing that philosophy into a setting designed to serve the Tarzana community with greater depth and intention.

A Philosophy Built on Quality Over Volume

At the core of the practice is a simple idea: quality over volume.

This means appointments are not rushed. Time is set aside to carefully evaluate your vision, clearly explain the findings, and ensure your prescription and care plan are correct before you leave. It is a more deliberate process, but one that leads to better outcomes and greater confidence in your vision.

A Clinical Eye Care Approach Supported by Technology

The practice’s on-site lab plays an important role in maintaining accuracy and efficiency.

By handling lens finishing in-house, we are able to maintain closer control over the final product. This allows for more precise adjustments and, in many cases, same-day service for single-vision prescriptions.

It’s not just about speed. It’s about making sure what you get is just as accurate as your eye exam.

We Carry a Legacy of Eye Care in the Tarzana Community

MY OPTOMETRY is recognized as a Los Angeles Legacy Business, reflecting years of consistent care within the community.

That recognition is built on long-standing relationships with patients and families who value a more personal, attentive approach. The optometry practice remains actively connected to the community through local involvement, including school vision screenings and mentorship for future optometrists.
